HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Historic preservation and genealogy efforts are a key component of our service activities. We conduct lineage research for members and prospective members. Within the Edmond and surrounding OKC metropolitan areas, our members participate in many volunteer opportunities that promote preservation efforts by serving and contributing to local historic cemeteries, city landmarks, the Edmond History Museum, and more!

EDUCATION
|
Our members are engaged with volunteer activities that promote and support education for our community entities. We provide supplies to local non-profits that address the needs of underprivileged students, and "Boxes of Sunshine" for teachers filled with school supplies to supplement their in-classroom stores. For our Veterans, the Chapter donates books to the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. To help facilitate the education of children in discovering facts about the Steen Family and their lives during the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, hands-on learning aids and lesson plans were donated to the Edmond History Museum. Our chapter, in partnership with the descendants of John and Cordelia Steen, established the Cordelia Steen Memorial Scholarship at the University of Oklahoma in honor of the Steens indelible impact as the first pioneer family of Edmond.

PATRIOTISM
Our chapter shows pride in Patriotism. We participate in a number of volunteer activities that honors our veterans, celebrates our Nation, and promotes the American Spirit in our community. Members donate personal care supplies to wounded servicewomen, participate in the annual Wreaths Across America commemoration, sponsor Quilt of Valor ceremonies, and partner with the Frank H. Collings American Legion Post 111 and the Edmond VFW Post 4938, to promote and commemorate our city's servicemen and women. Our chapter is involved in Edmond’s Libertyfest events such as the American Flag Retirement ceremony and the annual 4th of July Parade.
